15: At the end of this challenging verse we find Joshua’s resolution to follow the Lord. However, there is a great misconception about the timing of this statement. We generally think of this happening at the beginning of Joshua’s life. But, it actually was at the end, just before he died. Thus, his statement was based upon two things. First, he made the statement because he had already lived the life that he statement was based on. He had already served the Lord for a great many years. second, because he had served Almighty God for so long, and so faithfully, he was able to state his confidence that his descendants after him would do the same.

Praise Journal Entry #12028: Heavenly Father, Lord God Almighty, help us each day to live like Joshua did. Help us to live in such a way that we could make the kind of statement he made just before leaving this world. May we serve You faithfully all our lives. I love You, Father. Thank You for Jesus! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray and praise You, Amen.
