Matthew 18:34

Matthew 18:34
The pardon given to this man is revoked, it seems. However, one must remember that the debt was already absorbed by the rich master. The master had enabled the servant to live differently. The servant failed to do so. This was now the master’s choice, to exact that amount from the unforgiving servant. This is the same in reality. The sin-debt has been paid. Almighty God offers forgiveness to all who will accept, but many do not accept it. Instead, they take advantage of the time they have to continue in sin. It is worse to fail to embrace the forgiveness that is offered than it could ever be to be ignorant of it. Indeed, even those who are unaware of the message of the gospel have enough witness around them to show them the existence of Almighty God. Failing to understand every particular of eternal salvation will not be the reason for eternal damnation. Failure to receive Christ, and his righteousness, is the cause of eternal torment.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your forgiveness. May we always embrace it. Our attitude towards You and others is to be energized by Your holiness. You show us the better way, and make us able to walk in it. You always judge justly. You don’t respect one over another. You treat us all the same. Thank You for Your holiness! It gives us a standard. It gives us meaning and purpose. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray and praise You, Amen.

Prayer Requests: Pray for two people who are out of work. Pray for a woman recovering from surgery. Pray for a man’s unspoken request.
