Matthew 19:8
The Jewish leaders felt that the laws concerning divorce constituted a right, which they were not moved to let go of. They saw it as the wisdom of God that had allowed this, knowing the nature of women. This was a very bad way to view the law, but it was how they viewed it.
Jesus turned the whole thing on its head by saying it was only allowed because of the hardness of their hearts. In other words, divorce was not allowed because of the nature of women, but due to the stubbornness of both sexes. Much was prevented by allowing separation.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for this beautiful day to serve You! You give us so much, and yet we often fail to even remember Your blessings. You have given us so much in Your Word. You give us instructions for every area of life. Thank You for all that You have done. You are so merciful. May we always realize this and serve You with all our hearts.
