Matthew 23:10

Matthew 23:10
The best way to understand what Jesus wants here would be Paul’s admonition in 1 Corinthians 11:1. He tells the Corinthians to follow him, but as he followed Christ. So, we should not follow another upon their own merits, but only as they follow Jesus. He is the measure of authority. He is the measure of devotion. He is our Master, leader, guide, etc.

Bible Reading: 2 Samuel 1:1-3:39

Scripture Memory: James 2:11 “For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgresssor of the law.”

Prayer: Heavenly Father, Your Son brings joy to my life. Thank You for sending him to me! Knowing that I have eternal life through Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior is the most important thing I can think of. Nothing else matters so much as that. Lord Jesus I want to live with You as my Master. I want to be faithful to You, since You are so faithful to me. How can I ever thank You enough? Father, You are so wise and kind and full of grace. May Your praises be found forever in my mouth, for You are worthy. And worthy is the Lamb to receive honor and riches and wisdom and power and glory for ever and ever. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray and praise You, Amen.

Prayer Requests: Pray for a very young baby with serious health issues. Pray for a family being broken up because of drugs. Pray for a woman being tested for a blood clot.
