Luke 1:46 ”And Mary said:
“My soul magnifies the Lord,”
Usually we use the word ‘magnify’ to describe making something very small very big. That’s not what is meant here. God is not small. Nor does He need to be made bigger.
However, we use a magnifying glass or microscope to reveal things about an item that we wouldn’t normally be able to see. This IS what Mary is doing. She is proclaiming the great Glory and Majesty of Almighty God. She is revealing how God was working in her life and praising Him for all of it.
Heavenly Father, thank You for giving each of us the opportunity to praise You. We can magnify You by sharing with others what You have done in our lives. In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray and praise You, Amen.
