Luke 5:22 “But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, He answered and said to them, “Why are you reasoning in your hearts?”
How often does the Lord find the thoughts of our hearts to be questionable? We tend to ‘reason’ out many things that are hardly reasonable. And why? Sin generally causes us to jump to conclusions. We include its influence in our thinking and it taints our reasoning and judgment. This is why the eye of faith is needed to trust in the Lord. The arm of flesh is unable to bring the mind to bear correctly on the facts.
Heavenly Father, You alone understand it all. Please guide our reasoning by Your Holy Spirit. Give us Your wisdom, and all so that we may praise You with a true heart. We are imperfect and need You working in us to produce anything good. We will seek to honor You all of our days. In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray and praise You, Amen.
