He told a parable to those who were invited, when he noticed how they would choose the best places for themselves:

Nothing escapes the Lord’s notice. And, He is always looking to teach us something. The Pharisees made sure they got the best seats, and Jesus saw the perfect opportunity to teach them a lesson in humility.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the comfort of Your Word! As we look and see evil people prosper we need not be bitter. Instead, we should take great comfort from knowing You and Your plans for Your people. To be in Your care and have You for our constant Hope and Defender is of inestimable worth!
