Matthew 28:19-20

19: Jesus says, ‘therefore’ referring to his previous statement. In other words, the Great Commission is powered by and authorized by Christ. It is his program for this world. He tells his disciples to be teachers of all nations, everywhere. Then, those who, by implication, respond to this teaching, should be baptized. Here we find a great commentary on the Trinity. all three persons of the Godhead are mentioned. All three are important and need to be a part of our Christian life.
20: Jesus more specifically says that they were to teach his commandments. This includes his interpretation of the Old Testament, his ordinances, and his love for others. The Commission, then, includes all that is necessary for life and godliness, not just initial conversion and baptism.
When Jesus says here that he is with them until the end of the world, it actually means until the end of the age. Although I am not trying to minimize the presence of Christ by saying this, we must be aware that his presence will be manifested differently during the tribulation period than it is now. This is the age of the gospel, and though the gospel will be preached then, the main focus of God’d plan at that time will be judgement.
