The traditions of the Jews had confused dirt with sin. The Jewish teachers had traditionally taught a preponderance of washing, intimating that clean hands would make for a holy heart. They thought this teaching was just as binding as the law.

Heavenly Father, your beautiful world serves as a constant reminder to us of your awesome power. So many people live their lives without knowing the God of life.
